LITIG Forms Legal Industry AI Benchmarking Initiative – Artificial Lawyer

LITIG, the Legal IT Innovators Group, in collaboration with Artificial Lawyer, has launched a Legal Industry AI Benchmarking Collaboration initiative to establish shared standards for generative AI tools. Interested parties are invited to participate in an upcoming meeting in London to kick off the project. John Craske, Chief Innovation & Knowledge Officer at CMS, is leading the initiative. The goal is to address the need for transparency and accuracy in assessing AI tools, following recent debates on the reliability of such tools. Various law firms have been conducting their own testing and benchmarking of generative AI solutions, prompting the need for industry-wide standards. LITIG is calling on individuals with knowledge and experience in generative AI to join the collaboration and contribute to discussions on standard tests, methodologies, and maintenance of benchmarks. The initiative aims to foster consensus and cooperation across the legal industry. Those interested in participating can register through an online form provided by LITIG. The project is open to international participants, with the possibility of hosting online events for those unable to attend in person. The results of the benchmarking project will be shared with other industry groups to promote collaboration and benefit the legal tech community as a whole.
