IntelliSep has decreased the number of blood cultures taken at the hospital, saving time and resources. It has also reduced the cost of care for patients by avoiding unnecessary antibiotics and hospital stays. A study published in Academic Emergency Medicine found that IntelliSep correctly identified patients without sepsis 98% of the time, making it a valuable tool for ruling out sepsis and exploring alternative diagnoses. The accuracy of the test has been compared to an electrocardiogram in terms of its impact on patient care.
Data from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center shows that IntelliSep has had a positive impact on patient outcomes and hospital operations. The hospital conducted fewer blood cultures, saved nurse staffing time, reduced ICU stays for sepsis patients, and decreased sepsis mortality by 20%. Overall, the implementation of IntelliSep has significantly improved patient care and outcomes at the hospital.
