Businesses are increasingly using open source software (OSS) components to keep up with commercial demand, as OSS is cost-effective and allows for modification and sharing of code.
LLMs are AI algorithms that use deep learning and large data sets to generate new content. Open source software allows developers to improve software by modifying code and adding features. Open source security, or software composition analysis, is crucial for managing the risk associated with vulnerable open source components. Companies need to continuously scan and remediate vulnerabilities in their software to ensure security.
In 2018, 10.3% of open source components had known security vulnerabilities, leading to a 71% increase in open source-related breaches since 2014. Precise open source intelligence solutions can provide a comprehensive view of application security issues and streamline security processes with over 98% accuracy.
