Google Gemini App

Google’s Gemini app for Android is reportedly getting a new feature that allows users to open the app in two separate windows. This feature, discovered in the latest Google Apps beta, enables users to open both the Gemini app and the Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) assistant simultaneously in a multi-window interface. The feature is not yet visible or available to beta testers, and Google has not announced plans for its release.

The experimental feature was found in the latest Google Apps for Android beta version, and users must enable certain flags to access it. A video demonstrating the feature shows how users can activate the Gemini AI assistant in a pop-up interface on the bottom screen and drag it to the top of the screen to open a second window. The multi-window interface allows users to run two separate queries independently with no impact on each other.

The code string found in the publication suggests that the feature was originally developed for Samsung smartphones, specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, features are often removed over time, and it is unclear if this feature will be rolled out or if it was left in the beta program accidentally. Users will have to wait for an official update from Google to see if this feature will be made available.
