Left-Wing Mag Pushes Idea of Trump’s Trouble in Florida

Former President Donald Trump (CSPAN)

Newsweek recently highlighted a poll by Florida Atlantic University that suggested former President Donald Trump could be at risk of losing Florida in the upcoming election, despite other polls showing him ahead of his opponent, President Joe Biden. The FAU poll indicated that Trump led Biden by a narrow margin, with 46% to 42% in a head-to-head matchup. However, when factoring in an independent candidate, Trump’s lead increased to six points. Additionally, other polls, such as a Tyson Group poll and FiveThirtyEight.com’s tracking, also showed Trump holding a significant lead over Biden in Florida. Despite these findings, Newsweek acknowledged that Biden had made modest gains and kept the race competitive in the swing state, which has seen a shift towards more registered Republicans since 2018. Trump’s campaign spokesman emphasized that Trump continues to dominate Biden both nationally and in battleground states. Overall, while some polls suggest a close race in Florida, the majority indicate that Trump maintains a lead over Biden in the state.
