MBDA has introduced an artificial intelligence-based capability called Ground Warden to help military forces detect hidden targets in challenging combat environments. This technology allows for real-time processing of images during missile trajectories to identify threats and inform subsequent missiles. The Ground Warden is based on MBDA’s Akeron anti-tank guided missile system and aims to address the need for faster response in modern combat situations.

In a demonstration, MBDA showed how the Ground Warden can work alongside drones to provide insights to gunners on target interception and firing timing. The system can analyze data from drones to identify targets in difficult terrain, such as areas with dense tree cover. Additionally, MBDA offers a similar platform called Sky Warden, which is a counter-drone system that controls various sensors and effectors.

The technology was presented at the Eurosatory defense and security conference, showcasing its potential to enhance military capabilities in complex combat scenarios. By leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced missile systems, MBDA’s Ground Warden offers a solution to the evolving challenges faced by military forces in today’s fast-paced environments.
