Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in a recent newsletter that Apple may announce a partnership with Google to integrate Google’s Gemini chatbot into iPhones as part of Apple’s new Apple Intelligence initiative. This collaboration could be announced by the end of the year. ChatGPT, Apple’s built-in AI chatbot, may not be the only one available on iPhones, as Gurman speculates that Google Gemini will be the next one to join the fray. Users will have the option to choose between ChatGPT and Apple Intelligence for answering questions through Siri and other Apple apps. If ChatGPT is deemed a better fit for a particular query, users will be prompted to use it instead. Apple had previously mentioned that other AI chatbots would eventually be added, and Gurman’s report suggests that Google Gemini will be one of them. Those who prefer to opt out of using AI chatbots have the option to do so. The potential partnership between Apple and Google for integrating Gemini into iPhones aligns with Apple’s goal to enhance its AI capabilities and provide users with more diverse options for interacting with their devices.
