ChatGPT owner OpenAI strikes multi-year content deal with Time magazine

Time magazine has entered into a multi-year content deal with OpenAI, allowing the ChatGPT maker access to its news archive. The chatbot will reference and link back to the original Time.com source in response to user queries. Similar deals have been made with other companies like News Corp, Financial Times, Axel Springer, Le Monde, and Prisa Media. While some media companies have sued OpenAI for using their journalism, these partnerships are crucial for training AI models. These deals also offer revenue opportunities for news publishers who have traditionally missed out on profits generated by internet giants distributing their content. OpenAI has also signed partnerships with The Atlantic and Vox Media.
