Scotland students questioned on artificial intelligence use #education

Students across Scotland quizzed on use of AI – PublicTechnology

A new academic survey led by the University of Edinburgh aims to provide a national picture of how artificial intelligence is impacting students’ learning in Scotland. The research will focus on attitudes towards AI among secondary school pupils and teachers, with the goal of helping teachers support students in using AI responsibly for learning. The study will also address the digital divide by understanding how learners use AI tools and developing a framework for AI literacy. The survey will ask students about the AI tools they use, their knowledge of hallucinations in AI systems, and the policies schools have in place for AI use. The findings will help ensure that Scottish education is preparing students for an AI-driven workforce. The research is funded by Edinburgh University’s Generative AI laboratory and is open for participation until June 30th. The ultimate goal is to guide policy and potential implementation of AI technology in education.
