Tech Mahindra, in partnership with Dell Technologies and Intel, has introduced ‘Project Indus’, a multilingual AI model aimed at providing industry-specific AI solutions in sectors like healthcare, banking, and agriculture. The AI model will be deployed using a ‘GenAI in a box’ framework, utilizing Dell’s computing solutions and Intel’s infrastructure. Tech Mahindra plans to train future models using Intel’s AI assets and expand the project globally to preserve language diversity.
Project Indus is a large language model capable of conversing in various Indic languages and dialects, with the initial phase focusing on the Hindi language and its dialects. Tech Mahindra collaborated with Dell Technologies and Intel to deliver advanced AI solutions for businesses to scale rapidly, leveraging Tech Mahindra’s ability to develop industry-agnostic language models supported by Dell and Intel’s infrastructure.
The Indus model will concentrate on key use cases such as offering infrastructure and computing as a service, with tailored applications across sectors like healthcare, banking, agriculture, and telecom. The deployment of the Indus LLM will be facilitated through a ‘GenAI in a box’ framework, utilizing Dell’s computing solutions and Intel-based infrastructure solutions.
Tech Mahindra plans to use Intel Gaudi AI Accelerators and AI training assets to train future generations of Indus models, enhancing employees’ skills on the Intel product portfolio. The company aims to expand Project Indus globally to preserve India’s language diversity and dialects, bridging the digital divide.
