The model can generate images on individual consumer systems and overcome common artefacts. It was built to understand complex prompts and has enhanced typography accuracy. With a smaller size than other models, SD3 Medium is ideal for running on standard consumer GPUs without performance degradation and can absorb details from small datasets for customization. The company plans to continuously improve the model and stay at the forefront of image generation. Users can test SD3 Medium via Stability’s API, with model weights available under different licenses. Despite facing lawsuits and financial concerns, Stability AI has consistently impressed with its software performance. The company’s CEO resigned in March, but upgrades for images and other modalities like video, audio, and language are in the pipeline.
