Alibaba boosts AI adoption by small companies worldwide #technology

Alibaba.com, the global B2B marketplace of Alibaba Group, is seeing an increase in businesses using artificial intelligence tools to enhance commerce. Approximately 30,000 businesses on the platform are utilizing Alibaba’s AI tools to boost product exposure in targeted markets, allowing them to grow with limited internal staff. For example, Hanh Sanh Co., Ltd., a Vietnam-based electric fan company, credits AI for streamlining their operations. Alibaba.com serves over 48 million buyers and 200,000 suppliers globally.

At a recent event in Geneva, Kuo Zhang, president of Alibaba.com, discussed the importance of AI tools for small and midsized businesses (MSMEs) in global trade. A survey conducted by Alibaba found that 25-35% of MSMEs use AI daily, leading to a 37% increase in product exposure and a 70% acceptance rate of product optimization suggestions.

Alibaba.com recently launched an AI-powered version of its Smart Assistant global sourcing tool, aiming to provide a personalized guide for small business owners. The platform allows businesses to diversify their product sources in various markets, such as connecting with suppliers in Northeast Asia for natural skincare products or in Europe for men’s clothing and machinery.

Overall, Alibaba.com is focused on promoting the adoption of AI tools among MSMEs to build a global supply chain and facilitate growth in commerce. Businesses like Deltha Pharma have expanded their reach with the help of Alibaba.com, showcasing the platform’s impact on international trade.
