Improving Data Quality Through AI – inVISION #DataQualityAI

Data Quality & AI - inVISION

The expert panel discussed the challenges and benefits of using AI vision in inspection systems at the inVISION Days 2023 conference. While the potential for AI vision is great, there are still barriers to widespread adoption. Only 17% of respondents are currently using AI-based inspection systems, despite 70% believing they are ready for regular production. The main challenges include costs, identifying leading players in the market, and ensuring data quality. Companies need to address data quality issues with urgency to fully leverage AI technology.

The panel also highlighted that the main challenges for users starting with AI include finding consensus between what people want and what quality experts consider errors, as well as managing expectations and scope creep in projects. AI vision can both lower barriers for users by eliminating the need for vision or coding experts in some cases, but it also introduces complexities such as data quality issues that need to be addressed. Overall, AI vision has the potential to solve tasks that were previously unsolvable and automate processes that were challenging for traditional vision systems.
