Studies suggest that over 60,000 papers, slightly more than 1 percent of all scientific articles published globally, may have used AI chatbots. AI-generated text can introduce errors and fabricated information into scientific papers, posing a risk to the credibility of the research. Monitoring tools have identified a rise in AI-generated catchwords in scientific literature, indicating the increasing use of AI in academic writing.
