Semantic Kernel AI SDK advances to GA in Java, Python. #AI_SDK_ADVANCES

Microsoft has announced the general availability of Semantic Kernel for Python and Java, part of the Copilot stack of AI tools. The SDK allows developers to integrate large language models into their apps, acting as an AI orchestration layer. The Java SDK includes features like tool calling, text-to-audio conversions, and enhanced type conversion, while the Python SDK offers shared prompts across languages and cross-language prompt sharing. Both SDKs have improved API consistency and expanded documentation. Developers can access the Java and Python tools on the Semantic Kernel GitHub repo. This advancement follows the release of the C#/.NET SDK in December 2023, with Microsoft aiming to provide a seamless integration of AI services with conventional programming languages. The company emphasizes creating AI apps that combine the best of both worlds by leveraging the capabilities of AI models and Copilot AI assistants. The new releases aim to make it easier for developers to work with AI services like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Hugging Face, enhancing collaboration and efficiency in AI-driven applications.
