Seton Hall hosts first AI Teaching & Learning Symposium #AIEd

Seton Hall University’s Teaching, Learning and Technology Center, in collaboration with Edge, hosted the AI Teaching & Learning Symposium with over 160 educators. The event focused on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on education, covering policies, ethical challenges, accessibility implications, and practical opportunities for using AI to improve learning outcomes. Sessions included presentations from thought leaders and a student panel discussing experiences with generative AI tools.

The symposium highlighted the importance of preparing students for an AI-driven workforce by integrating AI tools into education while emphasizing critical thinking, ethics, and interdisciplinary knowledge. Seton Hall University showcased various presentations on integrating AI in higher education learning environments and using AI avatar patients to increase student readiness.

The university is actively addressing the influence of AI on education through ongoing dialogue, research, and implementation of AI technologies that uphold ethical standards and promote inclusivity. Initiatives like the American Association of Colleges and Universities’ Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum and the Teaching Learning and Technology Roundtable demonstrate Seton Hall’s commitment to leading discussions and initiatives that shape the future of higher education.
