Tech Mahindra launches ‘Project Indus’ LLM with Dell, Intel #innovate.

Tech Mahindra has launched ‘Project Indus’, an indigenous large language model (LLM) that can converse in Indic languages and dialects, including Hindi. The LLM will be implemented using a Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)-in-a-box framework and will leverage Dell Technologies’ computing solutions and Intel infrastructure solutions. Tech Mahindra will also leverage Intel Gaudi AI Accelerators and AI training assets to train future models and upskill its employees. The aim is to create tailored use cases for various industries like healthcare, education, banking, agriculture, and telecom.

The Indus model will focus on key use cases like providing infrastructure and computing as a service, and scalable AI solutions to enterprises. The collaboration with Intel and Dell Technologies aims to empower enterprises to unlock GenAI’s potential for enhanced operational efficiency and competitiveness. The companies plan to create multiple use cases for customer support, experience, and content creation.

The project involves collecting data from the Hindi-speaking population and building the Indus model through Tech Mahindra’s R&D arm, Makers Lab. The companies aim to accelerate the adoption of AI to drive growth, optimize productivity, and promote innovation. The Indus model will initially focus on pilot projects and key use cases to enable seamless deployment of advanced AI models across industries.
